Etch-A-Sketch Review and Giveaway Closed!!

When I think back on my childhood and think about toys that I used to play with, I think of Etch-A-Sketch. I remember spending time trying to make the perfect picture. Sitting with my friends and writing silly words and phrases to each other on our Etch-A-Sketches. When I was a kid, we didnt have video games to play in the car when going somewhere. We either played games with each other or we would play with our Etch-A-Sketch to help pass the time. I love that this classic toy has lasted through the years and still remains the Worlds top drawing toy. It is awesome to be able to share one of my all time favorite childhood toys with my kids. I have been given a Etch-A-Sketch to review and to share with my kids from the wonderful people at Ohio Art. I have also been given the chance to give one Etch-A-Sketch, courtesy of Ohio Art, to one of my readers.

Izola Shower Curtain Review and Giveaway CLOSED!!

I have been doing some redecorating lately, and I just got done redoing my bathroom. I was so excited when I was given a new shower curtain to put up in my bathroom, courtesy of  Izola, to review! I love the unique, and the shower curtains they have are definitely unique. I know that until I had found Izola I was unable to find the shower curtain that I was looking for. I love photography and to incorporate photography into a shower curtain is definitely for me! They have many world destination and map shower curtains, which are my favorites. I love music, I love being able to relax, put my earbuds in and listen to my favorite music. You know, when you get that really good song stuck in your head and you just have to listen to it? Yeah, you know what I mean. With me, when that happens, I have to find that song and listen to it. If I already have it either on CD or downloaded, great, but if not I have got to get it. That is what I love about my IPOD. If I just want to get the one song and listen to it in the car or put my ear buds on and listen to it, I can plug into my computer then head over to iTunes and download my favorite music. Love it! The Apple IPOD Shuffle is the worlds smallest  music player. It is so cute, I love mine! It is perfect for taking on a run because of it being so compact and being so easy to use, you wont even need to look down at it to change songs. The controls are located on the right earphone cord or activate the voice over command. Like I said, I love it!!

He's Home!!

My baby Robert is home from the hospital! He is doing ok. He does have a little pain, but that is not stopping him from being a 2 year old boy! Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, you are all amazing!!!!!!

Zak Designs for Kids Review and Giveaway (Toy Story) CLOSED!!!

If you have any little ones or you entertain any little ones, then you know how hard meal time can be. I know because I have a very picky 2 year old boy. My daughter has always been a pretty good eater and will eat just about anything you put in front of her. My son on the other hand, completely opposite. So we are always looking for ways to make meal time fun. So when I was given a Toy Story dinner set and lunch box to sample for a review from Zak Designs, I was very excited to try it out on him. Its amazing how the little things can make a big difference. Just by adding fun dinnerware, he was more intrigued by the meal in front of him. Amazing. I could not believe it, I had served him peas and carrots with a grilled cheese and pears last week and the only thing he would eat was the grilled cheese, then this afternoon when I served the same lunch to him on the Toy Story dinnerware from Zak Designs, he ate every bite. Not to mention how I was brave by pouring his juice in the cup that came with the set, and he acted so big and didnt even spill it. After lunch I put some snacks in his lunch box for him to carry around with him, and he loved the idea of having a lunch box. Made him feel so big!! Well thats not all I was able to get from Zak Designs. They now have a new site called Mealtime Fun Zone. There you can share recipes, you can discuss with others mealtime issues on the forum or even be part of Zak's product development process. They also offer links for useful parenting resources. I love the products that Zak's offers and I love the new Mealtime Fun Zone, I think I might try one of these great recipes on here for dinner tonight!

I received a Munchie Mug to try out in my home on my kids. I love it! With the cloth on the opening, it prevents all the mess that can come with snack time! It is so easy to use and can hold up to 10 oz of dry food!!!! These awesome snack cups are made in America and are very tough and durable. Believe me about the durability part, my son has tested this, and there is no mess to be found after he has dropped it many times. Boogie Wipes Review and Giveaway Closed!!

I am the mommy of a little girl with allergies and a little boy who seems to always have a runny nose, so when I heard about these Boogie Wipes, I just had to try these on my kids. I was given, courtesy of the wonderful people of Boogie Wipes, some of their products to sample. Well this week we are at the hospital in the Pediatric wing, the perfect place to really try these products not just on my kids but on others around the ward. Along with my own sample pack to try I was given many single samples as well. So I went around and talked to other parents and handed these out. There were some parents who had heard about these amazing Boogie Wipes and love them. Then the ones who hadnt were very eager to try the Boogie Wipes on their own kids. I tell you this has been one fun event. Something to cheer parents and kids up and take their minds off of being in the hospital. I had many kids tell me that they love the smell and they also love how it soothes their little noses, especially the ones who are constantly having to use the rough hospital tissues. The word got out and I had nurses asking for samples to take home and try on their own kids. I wish I had more samples to give out! But I did tell everyone where they can buy them locally and I also gave them the website info if they would prefer to buy online. I had many of the children and the parents suggest that Boogie Wipes be available in the pediatric wing, since they are 100% better in so many ways, than the hospitals tissue. Well when I gave my daughter one earlier to wipe her nose with she said this was the best booger wiper she has ever used, lol!! So there you go, after testing this amazing product not only on my own kids but on others the vote was unanimous, Boogie Wipes are number one up here in the Pediatrics unit as well as at my own home!!!!!! Let The Recovery Begin!!

We came to the hospital yesterday at 7:30 am to start the process of getting my little Robert prepped for surgery. Well, it wasnt easy at all. Yesterday was also the first day of school for my daughter, so my husband had to stay at the hospital while I went to the school for a meet and greet and to leave her at her first day back at school. I didnt realize how much this whole surgery idea had affected my daughter. I think it wasnt until we dropped Robert and my husband off that Estrella really understood what was going to happen to her little brother. So on her way to school she cried because she was scared for him. I comforted her and assured her that her baby brother would be just fine, that this was needed so that he wouldnt be sick all of the time. Once we got to school and she saw all of her friends she was ok. I got back to the hospital around 9am and they hadnt taken Robert back for surgery yet, so I was able to be with him until then, which wasnt long. The nurses came in and added a patient ID to his Scooby Doo and he helped prep Scooby to go back to surgery. Just a few minutes after 9am the Doctor and his team came to the pre-op room to give Robert some medicine to relax him and take him back for surgery. My anxiety really kicked in while I watched them take my baby boy away. But I was able to keep it together for some odd reason, as if I knew it would be ok. We were out in the waiting room and as the time passed my husband and I decided that maybe my husband should run to the house and pack some lunch for us. Just about an hour after he left the surgeon walked in and asked if my husband was around so he could speak to the both of us. The first thing I asked was if everything was ok. When the surgeon smiled all of the anxiety I had been feeling immediately went away. He began by first telling me that everything went very smoothly, what a relief. Then he explained that what they had thought all of this time to be a diagnosis of CCAM turned out to be an extra lobe on his lung, so instead of 2 lobes he had 2 and a very small extra lobe. This meant that instead of cutting into his lung and possibly having to remove his lower lobe that they didnt even have to cut into the lung at all, they just had to cut off the extra piece that was on the side of his lung. Not long after the Surgeon was explaining things to me, my husband came in so he was able to explain everything to him as well. But because they did have to remove the piece from his lung, they did have to place a tube in his chest for drainage and he would have to go to the PICU for observation and care of the tube until the tube can be removed. About an hour after the surgeon left a nurse came in to take me back to see him in the recovery and assist with the transport to the PICU. I got in the recovery room and he looked so pitiful. He was on his stomach and he was holding his Scooby Doo doll, Scooby was allowed to go with him into the surgery. When he heard my voice he opened his eyes and looked up at me and said that he was ready to go home. Poor baby. I told him that we could not go home just yet and that he would have to  stay and let the nurses and the doctors fix him up so he could go home. He was ok with that answer. While we were transporting up to the PICU his oxygen level dropped and we had to hook up a tube that I would hold to his face to bring his O2 back up. Well, once the O2 level went back up he decided that Scooby needed some O2 and he then held the tube for Scooby. Once we got in the room in the PICU they explained that the tube he had on his chest was to hopefully keep him from getting pneumonia and fever. They also put him on a pain pump. Let the recovery process start! Not as easy as it would seem though. Yesterday was a whole lot harder than today has been. I cant stand to see my babies in pain and to see alarms going off because his O2 keeps dropping into the 70's. Once we were able to get him to sleep, things went a little smoother. Through the night we had nurses in and out repositioning him, checking his IV's and checking his vitals. But I am happy to say nothing serious happened last night. This morning he woke up talking, and the first thing he said was that he was hungry. He ate a pretty good sized breakfast and drank quite a bit of juice. Good start to what I know will be a good day!! The only things we have had to really worry about is he does not like the tube and we have been trying hard to get him to stop pulling on it as well as his IV's. He is very antsy, which isnt a bad thing. I am glad that we are in recovery, but very tired. I cant wait to get this tube taken out so that he can move to the regular Pediatric floor and get through this and get home.
