Village Harvest Rice: Great Holiday Sides (2011 Holiday Gift Guide)

I know that right about now most are in that rush to get the final fixings for their Thanksgiving feast. With me, I do have what we will be cooking, but I have been on the prowl for all of the fixings I will be needing for our Christmas feast. We have a family that all have different tastes. For example, my sister is very picky and she will not eat the green beans or anything with onions. Then her fiance is from Barbados, and he really loves anything jerked. That is what they eat, they eat a whole lot of jerked foods. My parents are in New Mexico and they love spicy, which I do as well. But, I have been in Texas for ten years now, and I have grown very fond of the Texas bbq. I am not so big on the TexMex, so I do like the spicy I grew up with in New Mexico, but I cant handle it like I used to. My husband is from California, and he is not too fond of the sweet bbq we get here and he is more into the SoCal food. So I find that a side of some rice with meals can be something that everyone will eat. Instead of catering to everyones individual tastes, I can make dishes that they will all enjoy and eat. Recently I was sent an amazing selection of frozen rice to review from Village Harvest Rice.
They have a frozen rice that can go with just about any meal or theme you are aiming for! I think for our holiday meal, we will go with the Cranberries & Almond Creation and the Corn & Black Bean Creation. I think that these two mixes of rice, will be perfect and will be great for the different tastes that I will cater to this holiday season!! Another great plus about these two varieties as well as the other frozen rice from Village Harvest Rice is that these varieties are all good for you grains, and the whole grains make for a great addition to a very filling meal! This holiday season when you are out looking for ideas for sides and meals to serve your guests, then take a look at the amazing variety of frozen rice from Village Harvest Rice!!!

I have had Village Rice before and it tastes great. What is your favorite flavor? I like the brown rice.

I've never heard of jerked foods.
