Summer is here and in full swing. We love the time we get with the kids during the summer as well as the all of the activities we can enjoy with one another. I think that a tradition that is just a must have with kids is making your own frozen treats during the summer. It is like a rite of passage growing up, whether you make snow cones, ice cream or popsicles. Well recently we were sent a great device that makes making a great frozen treat with the kids not only a whole lot of fun but easy as well. We were sent the ICEE Deluxe Slushy Machine to review. My kids love it, they can make their own slushies with out a whole lot of help from my husband and I, which makes them feel so big. They just put the ice in the top, put their little slushy cup below, turn the knob on top to crush up the ice into their slushy cup, then mix their flavor packet in a bowl with some water and pour on the top and enjoy a nice cold and refreshing slushy! Last weekend we had a little party with some of my daughters friends and the refreshment that was the biggest hit at the party was the slushies that the kids all made with the ICEE Deluxe Slushy Machine!
I love that when we need to get some more flavors, we can run to our local
Toys R Us and buy the flavor refills so the kids can continue to enjoy their ICEE Deluxe Slushy Machine throughout the summer! In all my kids have found a new summer fave that will continue to be a fave this summer and summers to come with both of my kids and their friends!! When I was a child, at large family summer gatherings...there was always lots of watermelons from the garden....adults would cut into large slides, give to use kids...and we would sit and eat away...making a mess, but we did not care!

I had a lot of great summers when I was younger. The big fact is that I had my mom around to enjoy them, she made the everyday awesome just being around her. I loved going to my aunts (my mom sister) and all my family would come. My aunts, mom, and grandpa would cook a nice homemade dinner. Then we would walk around on the farm until this mean bull started chasing us! Now it's hilarious to think back on but then we just about got it. He was so close to us! I love all the water gun fights as a child, riding bikes, playing out in the rain, playing in the woods (when it was kind of safe and all you had to worry about was animals getting you). I had one wonderful childhood. I hope someone invents a time machine one day! :)

My fav memory is swimming at my parents house every possible day of the summer, I miss it so much.
Camping trips! I especially liked the times we'd have a family reunion at a camping site. An entire weekend of family, camping, swimming, canoeing, cooking and, the best part, nights around the campfire with my Dad and Uncles playing various instruments and everyone singing. I sure miss it and those family members no longer with us.
