5 Great Disney Titles now Available on Blu-Ray

Like many of you, I grew up loving and appreciating the great Disney movies that my parents shared with me. The Aristocats and the Rescuers were both movies that I loved when I was a little girl, then when I was older, the beautiful movie with the Indian Princess Pocahantas came out. A few years before I had my own kids, I was able to enjoy The Tigger Movie with my little cousins. I knew that once I had my own kids that I would be adding The Tigger Movie to my list that I would share with my own kids later on. On top of those movies came the sequels to some of my favorite movies, like The Rescuers Down Under, which came out when I was in grade school, Pocahantas II which came out when I was in high school, and Lady and the Tramp II which was released in 2001. When I had my daughter Estrella, I knew that sharing Pocahantas with her would be a must do, and I was right. Estrella is my own little Indian Princess, and she has adored both Pocahantas and Pocahantas II ever since. On top of our love for all of the Disney Princess movies, my daughter is also a huge animal lover, so naturally Lady and the Tramp II became a favorite of hers along with the Lady and the Tramp movie. Honestly, I dont think that there has been a Disney movie that I have shared with either of my kids that they did not love and have watched numerous times. Robert right away fell in love with Tigger, and The Tigger Movie is one of his all time favorite Disney Movies. He loves the energy that Tigger has and finds that his own energy could possibly match that of Tigger's, lol. Then when it comes to both The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under, my husband and I both found a love for the movies when we were young and have enjoyed sharing both of these movies with both kids. So you can imagine when all of these great movies were sent to us for review on Blu-Ray, not only were our kids very excited to watch them, but we found ourselves to be just as excited to watch and share these great titles with our kids! With the Blu-Rays, you not only get a better quality picture but you also get to enjoy all of the bonus features and extras that you can only get with the Blu-Ray movies. We found all of these movies to be great editions to our family movie nights and if you would also like to get these great Disney titles on Blu-Ray as well to share with your family, you are in luck because all 5 are now available to bring home today!!

Thermos FUNtainer #Giveaway (Back to School Guide)

Wow, this week is just flying by. If your kids have already started back to school then you know what I mean. This first week of school is not only a big deal for my kids, but it is also a big deal for myself and my husband. There are schedules that have to be put into motion and daily preparations that need to be made each day so that we are ready for the next day to come. With those daily preparations, we have lunches that need to be made each evening so that they are ready for the next day. My kids both enjoy a cold beverage and on those cold winter days, they both enjoy some warm soup. Well recently I was sent a Hello Kitty FUNtainer to review from Thermos. My daughter is a huge Hello Kitty fan and this food storage container makes for a perfect addition to her lunches!! The FUNtainer has a double wall vacuum insulation for maximum temperature retention, which in hand makes keeping those cold drinks cold and those hot soups hot when my daughter goes to eat her lunches at school!!! I love that this container is dish washer safe and even if my daughter drops it, it will not break due to the unbreakable stainless steel interior and exterior!! I also like how easy it is to open and to fill up, then with the big mouth on it, it makes it easy for my daughter to get her drink or soup from. In all, I am very pleased with the Hello Kitty FUNtainer that we were sent from Thermos and I know that this container will come in handy when making lunches for my daughter throughout this school year!! Well, since we are in full swing for back to school over here at Mommy Katie, the wonderful people from Thermos would like to give one of my amazing readers their own FUNtainer!!!

Aurora #Giveaway US & #Canada Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy Dolls

I think that most of us can remember Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy growing up. In fact these beloved characters are ones that not only I can remember growing up with, but characters that my mom shared with me, ones that she also loved as a young girl. I had my own set of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls that my mom and grandma had given to me, then when I had my daughter, my mom got a large Raggedy Ann doll for my daughter. So I guess you can say that we have kept the tradition of having these lovable characters in our family and sharing the love and the story books about these adorable dolls with our children. Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy were originally created in 1918 by a man named Johnny Gruelle who had made these memorable dolls for his daughter. I think what I loved most about the story behind the characters growing up is that Raggedy Ann came to when Gruelle pulled the poems, "The Raggedy Man" and "Little Orphan Annie" together to come up with the characters. Personally, I grew up loving the story of Annie so I adored and appreciated the characters. Little did I truly know the complete story behind the line of lovable dolls until I had kids of my own. Gruelle had made the dolls for his daughter, who, at the age of 13, passed away after being vaccinated with the smallpox vaccine at school with out her parents consent. Gruelle blamed the vaccine for his daughters death and used the Raggedy Ann doll as a symbol for the anti-vaccination movement. After learning the whole story behind these memorable and collectible dolls, I became more appreciative of the story behind these dolls. Well, recently the wonderful people from Aurora decided to bring the dolls back to life, so that parents can once again share the passion and love for these dolls with their own children. I was sent a Raggedy Ann Fancy Pal for review. I love that with all of the dolls from the new line, they keep that classic look that we all remember, but offer different products so that you can share the love for these dolls in a few different ways. Since we already have the full size dolls, I chose the Fancy Pals, so that not only will my daughter have a smaller version of Raggedy Ann, but she can also take her smaller Raggedy Ann doll along with her. Well to celebrate the new line of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls that have recently been released, the wonderful people from Aurora World would like to give one of my amazing readers their choice of doll from the Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy line of dolls!!!

Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit (Back to School Guide)

This school year, I have two kids in school and on top of that I also have my husband in school full time as well. With the kids I make their lunches to take with them, then there is my husband. Sure those fast food restaurants that are on campus and with in walking distance are very enticing, but when it comes down to it, eating out everyday for lunch is just not something we can afford. So, I also pack a lunch for my husband as well that he can eat in between classes. Recently I was sent a great product that is perfect for packing those school lunches in for both my kids and my husband. I was sent the LunchBlox Sandwich Kit from Rubbermaid to review. Sure we all love those containers that we can easily pack lunches in without using baggies, but I know that when I pack foods that taste better cold, they may not make it to lunch time that way. That is what really makes this awesome lunch kit from Rubbermaid stand out. There is a Blue Ice ice pack that is made to go with this kit, that will keep those lunches cold and ready to eat when lunch time comes around. I love that this kit comes with a sandwich container, two snack containers and a side container, which gives everyone enough food that comes out still chilled and tasting good at lunch time!!
On top of the LunchBlox Sandwich Kit, there are also other great sets that include the LunchBlox Salad Kit and other sets that make getting lunch together easier!! So this year, to make getting those lunches together easier and to keep them nice and cool, check out the line of LunchBlox kits that you can get from Rubbermaid!

#Giveaway $25 Sam's Club & Box Tops For Education (Back to School Guide)

With school on a lot of minds lately, there is so much prep that needs to be done. From the school supplies to the breakfast and lunch supplies. When I do my shopping, if I find those particular items that are on my list that also offer a chance to give back, I will choose those items. One thing that we participate in and collect every year for our kids school is Box Tops for Education. We are able to find these box tops that we can collect then give to our kids teachers, on a variety of products that we shop for and use everyday. With the back to school season here, I love to shop in bulk, especially since we will have a new baby in the house any day now. I find that shopping in bulk saves money and time, both things that most families take very seriously. I see that when I buy in bulk, I will have less trips to the store, and I can get those items we use on a regular basis for a better price than buying the same products in smaller amounts at the grocery store. Where we live, we have Sam's Club, and I personally adore shopping at our local Sam's Club! This back to school season, I was given the chance to do a review at our local Sam's Club, where the mission was to hunt down those Box Tops for Education. I see it as a excuse to shop, but since I am on bed rest, which I will be happy to give up as soon as little Wyatt gets here, I had to let my husband have fun with this one. Since we are already collectors of those box tops for our kids classrooms, I was aware that when we buy in bulk that we can get more box tops to send with the kids to school. But when I sent my husband to Sam's Club, he informed me that we can stock up on those box tops, since they are on the products that I had down on the list I gave him and that not only could we stock up on those Box Tops for Education, but we were also going to be stocking up on the products we love!! I did not want to bring him down by explaining that the whole point of me sending him shopping was to get those products with the Box Tops for Education, so I just told him to collect the products and when he gets home to start clipping for those box tops so we can send them with the kids to school!
So from now through September 30th, you can collect those box tops on the boxes of the products you purchase at Sam's Club, and you can also log on and earn those 5 extra Box Tops For Education by going to and enter the code that you can find at the bottom of your Sam's Club receipt. Then you will get a survey to fill out, once you fill it out you can 5 eBoxTops for your school!!! They are also offering the chance to earn even more Box Tops For Education by either signing up for a Plus Membership or by upgrading your membership to a Plus Membership!
Well, since most of us are in full swing for back to school, the wonderful people from Sam's Club and General Mills are going to give one of my amazing readers their own $25 Sam's Club Gift Card!!!

Kohl's $50 #Giveaway (Back to School Guide)

I think that one of my favorite things to do with my kids when it comes to back to school shopping is to go shopping for new clothes. With Robert, finding clothes that he likes is pretty simple, he likes certain characters and putting a pair of shorts and pants with a shirt is easy. Then there is Estrella, my diva, my shopping queen. She is particular about what she wears and it seems as she gets older the shopping gets harder. She loves to put her outfits together and this year the thing she is into is colors. In the past it was just pink and purple, which are still faves of hers, but this year she wants the bright and fun outfits that she and all of her little friends will be wearing. With that said, when it comes to shopping for my little diva, finding the styles and colors she wants is getting harder and harder for me, not only to find places that she likes to shop at, but also finding places to shop at that are affordable. Aside from the selection of clothing that my daughter adores and the prices that I find at Kohl's, I have found that being able to shop from home for the same outfits that my daughter finds in store and for the same prices, to be a blessing in disguise for me since this mama has been grounded in her room for the past couple of months on bed rest. I also love the sales that they have around the back to school season and being able to earn that Kohl's Cash shopping both online and in the store!!! There are just so many pluses that I find when I shop at Kohl's. I think that one of the things my husband discovered this year, since I have put him in charge of taking the kids to get some of their back to school shopping done, is, when I sent him to Kohl's to get a few things for the kids, he came home and was like a little kid all giddy and very proud of himself when he showed me the receipt and pointed out how much he saved and how little he spent! He also took some pictures of the sales that he saw, amazed by how much he could get and how he could make the money he went with go farther than he thought. I think he now realizes why I love Kohl's and why I love taking Estrella there to get the clothing that she wants as well as clothing for the rest of the family.

Like I had said before, I did send my husband on a back to school shopping adventure to Kohl's, just so he could see why I love shopping there and that I can get more for my money, but I have been doing the rest of the back to school shopping this year online. I love that I can find those same savings that I love to find in store, online, and when they have had their discounted shipping during their back to school sales, on top of the discount codes that they offer as well, I am able to enjoy the shopping experience that I would have otherwise enjoyed in store and in person!! This year my daughter has had to have these pants that are called jeggings. I did not have a clue what they were until I did some research on them, and that is when I found that not only does Kohl's have great prices on their jeggings, but they also have a great selection of colors to choose from, which opens that door for my daughter to shop with me and find exactly what she wants online! I also found great deals on bras and socks for my daughter and the girls tops that she wanted to go with the jeggings that she picked out, and I was able to get all of these great items for a really great price!

This back to school season, my shopping was not only made easier by having the great sales and prices from Kohl's, but I was also given a $50 gift card to use towards the shopping that I did this year, and the wonderful people from Kohl's would like to give one of my amazing readers their own $50 Kohl's Gift Card to use with their back to school shopping!!!

BIC Back to School Products #Giveaway (Back to School Guide)

Back to school shopping is here and in full swing. With that comes the huge list of supplies that the kids need. In my house we have our kids both going to school this year and we also have my husband going to school, so the supplies that are needed are not on a short list. When it comes to my husband and my daughter, they will both be using pens for school. When it comes to pens, they disappear like nothing else. It seems that everyone is always needing to use a pen but never has one, then when you go to get one out of the once large stash you thought you had, you realize that there are not any left. I admit it, I am guilty of pen snatching myself. I will go places, use their pen, then by habit place that pen in my purse, and not realize that I have taken the pen until I get home or until someone asks me if I have a pen they can use. But with the countdown for school to start back up here, the importance of having that large stash of pens on hand is something that I take seriously. I know that when my husband and daughter are doing homework, I want to be able to have the pen they need right on hand and not have to worry about searching the house for a pen to use, so when I was sent a great pack of BIC products to review for this back to school season, the anxiety of having enough pens on hand was lifted!! I was sent a great variety of pens, mechanical pencils and even a pack of erasers, which will also come in handy this year. In the variety I was sent, there are some really great and fashionable pens that my daughter and I have already put claim on, then there are also the ball point pens in a  variety of colors that my husband loves using. On top of the great colorful and fashionable pens we were also sent the highly coveted mechanical pencils, that my daughter adores using for her math homework and her friends also find to be a great pencil to use as well! In all I know that when we use and stock up on the products from BIC, not only will we have great quality products to use for this school year but we will also have a variety of products that everyone loves to use!!! Well, since we are in full swing with back to school products over here at Mommy Katie, the wonderful people from BIC would like to send one of my amazing readers the same variety of products that I was sent!!

Great Family Game Night Games from Asmodee!

When it comes to family time and fun, we love to hold a family game night at least once a week. It gives us a chance to have fun and enjoy each others company, a bonding time for the entire family. We love to play games both on our consoles and board games. With me on complete bed rest, we have had to make our family game night either a board game night or a card game night. I find the board games to be a lot of fun and easier for the kids to pick up on then it is with some of the card games that my husband and I like to play. Well recently we were sent a couple of great board games that are fun, exciting and challenging, which in all makes for a very fun night of games! We were sent DiXit Journey and Barbeque Party from Asmodee games to review! In the game of DiXit Journey, you have the whole family testing their skills, by creating clues with one or more words that can even be like a group of sounds, which is created by the active player. Then the rest of the family has to find the card that is just like the clue. It is a game that may sound complicated but is one we were able to get the kids involved in and have fun along with us in!! This is a game that you can simplify for the younger kids but make it more complicated for when you have just adults and older children playing as well!!! We have loved adding DiXit Journey to our family game night and if you like to get those brain juices flowing while having fun then DiXit Journey is the game for you!!!!
The other game that we were sent from Asmodee to add to our family game night was Barbeque Party. This is one that is great for the kids to play either with other kids or like we did, with the whole family. This fun game brings grilling to a whole other level, one that the kids love! The game includes all of those barbeque favorite items. When you pick a card you are told what is needed to grill, then once you pick the same card again the item is ready to come off of the grill. The thing is, this cute little grill is ticklish and if he gets tickled than your meal can be late! We loved playing this fun game with the kids on our family game night and the kids have loved playing this game together for tons of fun together!! If you are looking for a great game for the little ones to play and to add to your family game night then get them Barbeque Party!!!!

I remember when I was in school, one of the authors I loved as a kid was R.L. Stine. It was not just the books that I loved either, I also loved the Goosebumps television series that would come on as well. The stories were scary, but not too scary, they were just enough to get the bumps and the hairs on my arms raised. Now that I have my own kids, I like to share those loves I had as a kid with them. Well when it comes to the R.L. Stine books, I have been able to share the ones I had collected as well as take my kids to the book store to get more to add to the collection, then when it comes to the television series, my kids can watch them on the Hub. On top of being able to watch their favorite R.L. Stine shows on the Hub, my kids can also enjoy some of the shows from the Hub series at home on DVD. We were recently sent two of the DVDs from The Haunting Hour: The Series Volumes 1 and 2 to review. So not only can my kids tune in on Saturday evenings at 5pm and 5:30pm ET to watch their favorite series, but now they can watch some of the episodes right from home! I love watching these shows with my kids and watching them get a little scared, lol, and you can have your own Haunting Hour when these great DVDs come available on September 4 from the Shout!
