#Giveaway #RC Cuisinart Baby Food Maker & Bottle Warmer Homemade Goodness for Baby!! CLOSED!

Can you believe it? Wyatt is already 5 months old, and it seems that everyday we are hitting new milestones with him. We have teeth, yes, teeth! We are sitting up, by ourselves for a few minutes at a time, and we are now eating foods! It is amazing on how fast things go with a baby, but with each new milestone that we reach, there are things that I want to do for my Wyatt to ensure that he gets the best out of everything. I know that when my husband and I make our baby food at home, we know exactly what goes into it. Recently I was sent the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker & Bottle Warmer to use to make Wyatt's baby food and review. I have tried some baby food makers in the past and I love that the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker & Bottle Warmer is different than the others.
With this baby food maker, I can do all of the cooking without having to take separate steps in order to get the food made. The only steps I need to take ahead of time is if I am going to make fruits or vegetables in the food maker, I just need to wash them and cut out any seeds. Other than that, that is all the prep work I need to do. The rest is all done, from the chopping to the puree to the steaming. I love that once the food is ready to be steamed, the bowl is secured enough to where it does not spit any of the food out when it is steaming or when it is chopping and pureeing. I also really like that when I am pouring the food into the containers for storage, I do not have to worry about the blade coming off due to the Bladelock System that keeps the blade in place while I pour. With the 4 cup bowl, I can make enough food to have leftovers to feed Wyatt for a few days! Another great feature that really comes in handy is the bottle warmer, which is easy to set up and heats up the bottle to the perfect temp! In all I love the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker & Bottle Warmer for the fact that I know what my baby is eating and I can make healthy foods for him, that it makes making homemade baby food simple for parents, that I can warm bottles, and that when I make Wyatt's baby food from home we can save money! When you get a Cuisinart Baby Food Maker & Bottle Warmer, you not only get the baby food maker and bottle warmer, but you also get a spatula which helps get all of the food out of the bowl, and a recipe book which has some amazing baby food recipes for parents to try out! Here is one that I found, on the Cuisinart site, to be a great healthy recipe for baby, its called Green and Sweets:

Ingredients

1          cup peeled and sliced parsnips
1          cup sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into ½- to 1-inch pieces
½         cup parsley, hard stems discarded
½         cup shredded kale
225      ml water

Instructions

Put the parsnips, sweet potatoes, parsley and kale into the work bowl fitted with the steam blade and cover bowl with lid. Add the water to the steam/bottle warming chamber and set the measuring cup in its place. Close the lid to lock and then turn the dial to steam. Once the light goes out indicating the steaming is complete, turn the dial to chop. Pulse about 10 times to break up, scraping if necessary, and then process continuously until completely smooth, about 20 to 30 seconds. Allow to cool before serving. If not using immediately, refrigerate for up to three days or freeze in individual portions for convenience.

Well, since we are going on a new journey with Wyatt, trying out new baby foods and making them at home, the wonderful people from Cuisinart would like to be included in your little ones journey of trying and eating homemade baby foods, by offering one of my amazing readers their own Cuisinart Baby Food Maker & Bottle Warmer!!

Joe Daddy's

When you have a family, you like to find places that you can take the kids and enjoy together as a family. I love finding new places that we can go to and not only enjoy for ourselves, but also enjoy taking our kids to as well. Recently, I was given the chance to review such a place. A restaurant that is not only fun for the hubby and I to enjoy together when we want to go out with out the kids, but also a restaurant that is very family friendly and the kids can enjoy as well! The restaurant I am talking about is Joe Daddy's. Being in Texas, the BBQ is a must, and there are plenty of BBQ restaurants around, but I love being able to find something that is different than the rest, and that is what Joe Daddy's is. When you walk in, you get the atmosphere that is welcoming and that gives you the Texas BBQ feel. You also find a staff, who are ready to help and serve you. I love that if the hubby and I want to go out without any kids, we can enjoy a game on one of the flat screen televisions. One thing, aside from being able to find a place to enjoy the game at, that the hubs and I love, is finding a great place to go and listen to music, with or without the kids! Every Friday night there is live music at Joe Daddy's, and I love being able to check the schedule out to see who will be playing so that my husband and I can look forward to a great night out! Or, if the kids are with us, we can enjoy a family dinner together. The food is amazing, and has that homemade, country kitchen flavor. My husband and I enjoyed being able to choose from the menu items when we went on a date there, then when we had the kids with us, we enjoyed being able to order from the Family Options, which allows us to choose from the amazing selection of meats and sides that are available and have plenty of food to go around.
Another great thing that I really liked about Joe Daddy's is that if you are looking for a great place to hold a party or get together, they have a section that is upstairs overlooking the rest of the restaurant. The VIP section is set up to give you and your guests the intimate setting that will make your party one to remember! In all, we found that the atmosphere and food make Joe Daddy's a new favorite restaurant for us to enjoy for not only us but for the entire family as well!!
Also check out and follow Joe Daddy's on Facebook to get up to date specials and events!!

#Giveaway Valentines Day Warm Traditions #RC CLOSED!

I love Valentines Day, and with that big day just around the corner, I have been on the prowl for great gifts to give my loved ones this year. I think that one thing that can really say I love you is giving a gift that really keeps you warm. My mom is always complaining of being cold. They live in the mountains and her floors are wood and terracotta, so when she walks around in the mornings, her feet are extra cold. One thing that we all get her for any occasion is some nice warm socks that she can wear around in the mornings. This year for Valentines Day, I was asked to do a review on a hot water bottle from Warm Traditions. Since this was to be a Valentines Day review, my mom came to mind and I thought that the Warm Traditions Heart Shaped Hot Water Bottle with Matching Socks would be the perfect gift to give her. She was very shocked to get it, and when she called me to tell me she got it, she was excited to be able to put not only the socks to use, but also put the hot water bottle to use as well!

She loves that she can keep warm in bed, and even if she gets up to do things then decides that she wants to go and sit in bed, she can make sure that her feet stay warm by using the hot water bottle in her bed! She said that the socks are amazing, and she loves to be able to put them on when she gets up to keep her feet from getting chilled when she walks around the house, and having the hot water bottle is something that she adores having, especially on those cold winter mornings!! Another thing that she loves about having a hot water bottle, is that even when she is warm, if she or my dad get back aches or any kind of body aches, they can use it to help soothe their pains. My mom and I are very pleased with the Warm Traditions Hot Water Bottle, and it makes me feel great knowing that my mom can keep warm now both in bed and when she is walking around her house, and that she and my dad can both get use from the hot water bottle. So this year, when you are looking for a gift to give, that will not only warm the heart but also warm the body, then get a hot water bottle from Warm Traditions! Well, to help warm other hearts and feet for that matter, the wonderful people from Warm Traditions would like to give one of my readers the same Valentines Day set I was sent!!

Purex Baby Detergent #Giveaway #PurexBaby #RC CLOSED!

I have learned from my older two kids that when they are babies, their skin can be very sensitive. So when I was making preparations for Wyatt's arrival, I knew that I needed to stock up on products that would be safe and gentle on his skin. One product that can sometimes be overlooked when it comes to baby is laundry detergent. I learned early on with Estrella, that the laundry detergent I use can make a huge difference. Recently I was given the chance to review the new Purex Baby Detergent. I personally love Purex laundry products, for one they are very wallet friendly and for two, I love the selection of laundry products they have. From the different laundry detergents to the Purex Crystals, which help make your laundry smell fresh for longer! With the Purex Baby Triple Action laundry detergent, I love that it has a light scent to it, I also love that it is gentle on Wyatt's clothes and blankets, and that when I use it on his clothes, I do not see any sign of skin irritations due to harsh detergents. Another huge plus, aside from how affordable it is, is that even though it is so gentle on the clothes and on his skin, it still gets those stains out. So after Wyatt gets done eating some carrots and he leaves those orange stains on his clothes, I know that when I put some of the Purex Baby Detergent on as a pretreater, then put the clothes in the wash, they will come out clean and stain free!! Well, after trying the Purex Baby laundry detergent for myself, and since the wonderful people from Purex sent me 3 coupons for my readers in a giveaway for free bottles of the new Purex Baby, I decided that I would give one of the coupons that I was sent for my readers to giveaway to my local Ronald McDonald House, so instead of offering 3 coupons for giveaway, I am going to offer 2 coupons for giveaway! On top of me giving 2 coupons for free bottles of the new Purex Baby laundry detergent to my readers, Purex is also hosting a sweepstakes of their own! You can enter now to win one of 3 $500 prizes or one of 250 bottles of the Purex Baby today!! http://insiders.purex.com/oh-baby?id=928

iGOZEN Organic Cleaner

As a parent, we like to know that the products we use in our homes are safe for our children. With a baby and two older children in the home, I try and keep my home as clean as possible as to avoid germs and bacteria that can cause my kids and myself to get sick. The thing is, when I use those everyday household cleaners, I may be killing those germs and bacteria that I aim to get rid of, but I am also putting chemicals on everything that can also be harmful in other ways to my family. So when I was given the chance to review the iGOZEN Everyday Cleaner, I knew that this cleaner was one I really wanted to give a try. I love that iGOZEN is made from all natural ingredients, is odorless and is safe to use with my family and even our pets and it is safe for the environment. The iGOZEN solution is 100% natural and is developed from the sea, it is a microfine powder that is made from seashells. When it is mixed with water, it makes a spray on solution that you can clean your entire home with and anywhere else where cleanliness and hygiene is important! Another huge plus about the iGOZEN cleaners is that they are very affordable, so not only is it family and environmental friendly, but it is also wallet friendly, which in all makes the iGOZEN cleaners a product that I will recommend to others!!!

Thinkbaby Thinkster Sippy Cups

It seems like the time is just flying by since having Wyatt. Honestly, it feels like it was just yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital, and now, actually as of this evening, my baby is having some teeth come in. I know that when it comes to products that I use for my Wyatt, or for any member in my family, I like to use products that do not have any extras, like the harsh chemicals that are used to make the products. With bottles and sippy cups, that is one thing that I look for, I look for the little sticker that says BPA Free. Since having Wyatt, I have learned that the BPA is not the only chemical that I should be worried about when shopping for products to use with my family. There are also the phthalates, nitrosamines, lead, PVC, PET,  and biologically harmful chemicals that I need to watch out for. There is so much extra that is added into our foods and other products that our families use everyday, and as a parent, I see that it is our place to find products that are free of any of the unnecessary extras that can be harmful. Well, since those teeth are starting to show, and Wyatt will be hitting that 6 month mark in just a few weeks, I know that it is time to look for those must have and handy sippy cups. I was sent a couple of really great sippy cup products from a company that knows how important it is to parents to keep those chemicals out of the products we use for our kids. I was sent the Thinkbaby Thinkster bundle to review! I love that with the Thinkbaby straw bottle, or Thinkster, there is a soft silicone straw, and the bottle is made with out any harmful chemicals. Then with the Thinkbaby Sippy Cup, I love that the spout is soft and has the no spill feature, which for a parent, is an amazing feature to have. I know that when Wyatt hits that 9 month mark, and is ready for the sippy cups, I will be using products that are not only BPA free, but also free of phthalates, nitrosamines, lead, PVC, PET,  and biologically harmful chemicals, when I use the sippy cups from Thinkbaby!!!

New Year New You with Must Have Fitness Gadgets from Best Buy

It may seem like it was such a long time ago that we made those resolutions, but in all reality, it has only been a few weeks. Most of us have busy lives, and we tend to say, I will start on that resolution tomorrow, but then tomorrow comes and we once again put off those goals we made till another day. Well, it is time to start reaching those goals and start working on making them a reality. One of the most popular New Years Resolutions that is out there is to lose weight and get in shape. Sure, that resolution sounds easy enough at the time, but when we add our schedules, kids and family into the mix, we put our health to the side. I know that for me, I want to be around for my kids and future grand kids. I want to live a long and healthy life, and in order for that to happen, I need to start reaching those goals of getting healthy now. There are so many diets and ways to lose weight out there, and it can be somewhat overwhelming when choosing the correct path to go down and where to start, so when I put together what I will be needing in order to reach my weight loss goals, I try to cover every detail. One thing that is needed, but maybe something that we may not want to see, is a scale. With todays technology, I see it as being a tool that I will not only need, but something I can enjoy using. So when I went out to find the perfect scale to use while I go on my journey of losing weight, I went to Best Buy. When I was at Best Buy, I came across numerous scales, and one that really stood out for me was the Withings WiFi Digital Body Scale. With this scale my husband and I can both set up accounts, up to 8 accounts, where we can measure our weight, fat mass, and body mass index! I love that we can keep track of our progress online, by using any of our wireless devices that we have hooked up to our home WiFi.  I know that when my husband and I use this scale, we will not only be able to track our weight loss, but we can also track our BMI and fat mass as well, which in all can make losing weight more fun than depressing!!!
Since I decided to start out by getting some great products at Best Buy for our weight loss journey, I chose to look into other products that will aid us in tracking our health and weight loss in the most effective ways. I found that at Best Buy, there are so many great tech gadgets out there that can make losing weight and getting healthy fun! Another item that really caught my eye was the Fibit One Wireless Activity and Sleep Tracker. I can not only use this as a pedometer, where I track my steps, but I can track the steps I take, how many calories I have burned, and how many stairs I have climbed. Then, when I not only wear this during the day, but also wear it to bed, I can use the silent alarm function where I can set it and wake up with out waking the whole house when I get up to start my day! With this great little device, I can set goals, share my progress and even earn badges! I love that I can add this device and track the progress that is recorded online with my iPad or tablet. In all, I love that I can start out on my weight loss journey using some great gadgets from Best Buy which will help me track and see where I am at and where I have been on my journey!!

Well to help my readers get into gear with some really great products from Best Buy to aid them in their own weight loss journeys, the wonderful people from Best Buy are giving my readers a coupon for 20% off their health and fitness products!!

The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.

OtterBox #OtterKids #spon

I like most who have them out there, love having a smartphone. I find having one can really make things easier for me, from the coupon and shopping apps to the games that can keep my kids occupied while we wait at Dr.'s offices and other places. With that said, I do allow my kids to play with my smartphone quite often, and I try to keep an eye on them so that they do not break my phone. Having a smartphone is really nice, but they are also expensive to replace, and with kids, accidents happen more often than not. So I know that when I buy new expensive electronics, in order to keep them safe, I need to buy protective covers for them. One company that I love and use for my electronic devices like my iPad, iPhone, iPod and other tablets is OtterBox. I actually go out and find the OtterBox cases for my devices right after I purchase or get those hi tech devices that I know my kids will be playing with at some point or another. I can usually find the OtterBox cases at the mall, but recently I was given the chance to shop the online OtterBox store for a new protective cover. With the holidays come and gone, I knew that it was time to get a OtterBox case for the new iPhone. Since this case was going to be for a guys iPhone, I chose to go with the iPhone 5 Reflex Series in Coal. I love how protective this case is, I find it to be highly kid proof, which for me means that if Robert is playing on it and happens to drop it, I do not have to gasp at the thought of having to replace the iPhone. I love how light weight this OtterBox case is and I like I can access all of the features and functions of my iPhone through the case. With the amazing fit that the OtterBox offers, I know that having this case on the iPhone 5 will keep the iPhone from getting scratched, and absorb any impact, shock or bumps that may come along. Another great thing that I love about having the OtterBox Reflex Series for the iPhone 5 is that it is easy to take on and off for when we put the iPhone on a dock! In all, I have loved and continue to love the cases from OtterBox to protect my smartphones and tablets and I will continue to recommend OtterBox to anyone especially those who have kids!!

Won't Back Down on Blu-Ray

One thing that I love and look forward to is my Girls Night In. We have a family movie night, but I also have a girls night once a month, where myself and some of my friends either go out to a movie or stay in and watch one. Well, since Wyatt's arrival, my nights out have been limited, so we have been choosing to enjoy nights in with the girls. On our most recent night in we decided to watch some movies that we all had not seen and wanted to see, on that list was the movie Won't Back Down. I received this movie on Blu-Ray to review. One thing that we all appreciated was that it was a movie that we could all relate to on a level. We are all moms, and the movie is based on some moms and a teacher, who take things into their own hands to try and make a difference. I think we really found it interesting not only because it was a movie about mothers taking action, but it focused on our education system, which seems to be a topic that comes up quite often. In Won't Back Down, you find parents in a big city who find that their kids who attend a inner city school, are not getting the education they deserve. We found this movie to be very powerful and interesting. I loved how the moms and the teacher stood up for what was right and for their kids and other children who were being affected as well. They found themselves in a fight to make a change, risking everything along the way in order to make a difference for the children and their futures. With all of the politics that are involved in todays educational system, we all found this movie to be very moving and one that raised a good discussion afterwords, lol. Won't Back Down on Blu-Ray was a great movie to watch with the girls and I see it to be a great movie to add to my list of faves! Won't Back Down is available to bring home today!

Fathead #Giveaway #RC CLOSED!

My Robert is a huge Star Wars fanatic. Sure, he may only be 4 years old, but he knows more about the Star Wars movies than I do, and over the past year, he has wanted anything and everything to do with Star Wars. One of the things that my husband and I have decided to do for him was to change the theme in his room to a Star Wars theme. We have found the bedding, and a friend of ours gave him a custom Star Wars toy box, but something that we thought would really stand out and that Robert would really like would be a giant Star Wars picture on his wall. We had looked around at many different posters and such, but nothing really stood out until we found the ultimate wall decoration from Fathead, where we found a great collection of Star Wars wall graphics at Fathead.com! When we saw the Millennium Falcon we knew that this was exactly what we were looking for. I love how big it is and how much detail it has. I also love, that even though this wall graphic is enormous, it was not that hard to put up. When it came in it was rolled up in a tube, then after we flattened it out on the floor and let it sit there for the amount of time that was on the instructions, it was ready to be taken to his room and put up. We were worried about it rolling back on itself while we were putting it up, but after following the instructions, we did not have any issues with putting it up. Then once we had it up, it was time to reveal it to our Robert. He was ecstatic, and could not believe how cool it was. We still had a few wall graphics left and Robert decided that he wanted to make his room an official Star Wars room by putting the Star Wars wall graphic on his door!
Not only were we very pleased with the outcome, but Robert was as well, and we also know that when we are looking for entertainment themed wall graphics or if anyone we know is, we will go to Fathead.com and be able to find just what we are looking for there! Well, since we love our Fathead and had such an amazing experience from easy navigation and selection on the site to putting up our Fathead in our house, the wonderful people from Fathead would like to give one of my amazing readers their own Fathead!!

Child Safety Concerns (Guest Post)

mommykatie.com

Child Safety Concerns
A child’s safety is of utmost importance to a parent. Our
children rely on us for strength and care. While we can’t protect our children
from every danger in life, there are things we can do to keep them safe from
everyday hazards. There are many safety courses and information packets
available to new parents. You would be surprised at the things we can overlook.

Childproof the house.
Whether you are bringing home a newborn baby or just keeping up with your busy
children, make sure your home is childproofed to the best of your ability. Keep
plastic covers over electric sockets, set the temperature of your hot water
heater to 120 degrees to prevent any scalding or burns, keep smoke alarms and
carbon monoxide detectors in working order. You can also utilize baby gates,
knob covers, appliance locking straps, stove guards and other safety products.
Scan the house regularly for potential hazards, such as small items or toys on
the floor, balloons, magnets, marbles or other choking or tripping risks.

Watch for toy recalls.
Toy recalls are more common than we would like them to be. Sometimes there is a
problem with a few toys during manufacture, but you should heed a recall just
to be safe. The U.S.
Consumer Product Safety Commission is one resource for any toy recalls.
Also, ensure your children are playing with toys appropriate for their age
group. Little pieces can be a choking hazard for toddlers.

Keep up on nutrition and
health needs
. Children can easily become dehydrated if they do not drink
enough, particularly if they are spending a lot of time outside in hot weather.
Never leave your children locked in a car alone, especially during extreme
weather. Have regular checkups to ensure general health and to screen for early
prevention of disease. Ensure your children are getting adequate nutrition for their age group.

Teach your children
about poison risks
. Remember the Mr. Yuck stickers our parents used to
place on household chemicals and other potential poison risk items around the
house? We knew if there was that Mr. Yuck face on something that we shouldn’t
touch it. This is still a great practice to have with your children. If they
are old enough, try to explain some of the dangers of ingesting medications,
household cleaners and the like. Impress the importance of avoiding any product
that has the sticker on it. You can also purchase devices to keep cabinet
doors closed from toddler hands. Even rubber bands work in a pinch.

Hershey's Valentines #Giveaway CLOSED!

Valentines Day is not that far away, and it is that time of year to make an excuse to eat lots of chocolate, or at least that is how I view it! I love the different holidays throughout the year, and Valentines Day is one that I have always loved, but have found it to be more fun now that I have kids. Sure, I love getting those yummy chocolates from my husband each year and going to dinner with him, but now that I have kids and with them being in school, I can also have fun with Valentines Day for them as well. I love being able to give my kids Valentines on Valentines Day, and I also love helping their classes with their Valentines Day parties. I remember as a kid, getting Valentines for my classmates and handing them out, then also getting all of the Valentines from them as well. I also remember giving the teacher a Valentine, which was always something a little extra special. One candy that my daughter loves is Twizzlers, so when we were sent some of the Valentines Day candies from Hershey's this year, she was very excited to not only see the Twizzlers, but to see that they are Valentines that she can give out to her friends this year! Both Estrella and Robert loved that there were a couple of extras, like the Hershey's Golden Apple and the Giant Hershey's Kisses that they can give to their teachers. I know that every year, whether the kids choose to go with the candy Valentines or with their favorite character Valentines, we like to give everyone some candy. So since Robert will be going with some super hero Valentines this year, I find the little Raspberry Hershey's Kisses to be the perfect candy to attach to his Valentines! Then for me, I get to indulge in the Hershey's Pot of Gold heart shaped candy box that is filled with chocolate bliss for myself and my husband to enjoy!! Another great thing about celebrating with Hershey's for Valentines Day is all of the great recipes I can make for the class parties, like the Krunchy Kisses Cookies which are made with Hershey's Kisses and Reese's Peanut Butter!!!
Well this Valentines Day, the wonderful people from Hershey's would like to help you celebrate by sending one of my amazing readers some really great Hershey's Valentines Day products!!
