#Giveaway #peepsonality Hanging with the Peeps this Easter!

Product Received

Spring is upon us, the weather is starting to show signs of warmer days ahead and Easter is just around the corner! In our home, as we prepare for that adorable bunny to make his presence known in our home, one thing I find to be a lot of fun is to find fun products and recipes that can help get everyone excited for both Spring and Easter! One such family of products that we find to be a tradition, not only for adding to the Easter baskets each year, but also to get for fun recipes for Spring and even Easter, is the Peeps. To get us started with the Peepin Fun this year, I was not only introduced to some great ideas on the Cookin With Peeps site, but we were also sent a great gift pack filled with a variety of those fun Peeps products! When my box of Peeps products arrived, it was a given that the Dark Chocolate Peepsters were put in there, just for me, or at least that is the way I see it. I mean with these Dark Chocolate Peepsters, a self proclaimed chocoholic like myself, can be in Peep Heaven, when I indulge on those dark chocolate covered marshmallow creme filled deliciousness, while I work on researching Peep projects for my kids and I to do!

Aside from the Peepsters, we found the variety of Peeps products that we can use for not only this years Easter baskets, but also for fun Spring projects, to be very impressive. From the original Peeps that can be found in both Bunny and Chick shapes in a variety of colors, to the different flavors that are available, which opens the door to many projects waiting to be made. One recipe idea that I really like and I know the kids will enjoy taking part in would be the Easy Peeps Cookies. To get started with this recipe, we can use either homemade or premade sugar cookies. If we choose to go the homemade route, then we will need to wait until the cookies are cooled before we decorate them. Then, once the cookies are cooled down, the kids and I can add green icing to the top of the cookies to make it look like grass, place a Peeps Chick on top and surround the Chicks with jelly beans, giving the cookies the look of sitting on a nest with eggs. I found this recipe along with many others to be fun ones to engage the kids in this season on the Peeps site! So, this year, as you prepare for Spring and Easter, be sure to head out and stock up on the different Peeps products, then head on over to the Peeps site and check out all of the great recipes and craft ideas. Well, to help with your decorating and Easter prep, the wonderful people from Peeps would like to send one of my amazing readers their own collection of Peeps products like I was sent!

#Giveaway Out of this World Gear from Kidorable

Products received

It seems that with kids, everyday is an adventure. From the time they wake up in the mornings until bedtime at night, kids are constantly exploring and having fun with their imaginations! I find that having kids is a lot of fun, I watch them go and I remember my own childhood. The times when my sister and I would go on a dinosaur dig in the backyard or when we were astronauts going on a space adventure. I like to feed their imaginations by finding products that will not only be practical for everyday use, but that can also be used for all of the adventures that lie ahead! One company that I have adored since my eldest was little is Kidorable. We enjoyed the pretty Ballerina line of rain gear with Estrella, and she loved wearing her gear out in the rain, pretending that she was a prima ballerina, dancing to her own beat in the rain! Then with Robert, he loves firefighters, and when we got him the Fireman set of rain gear from Kidorable, he had fun not only wearing his gear in the rain, pretending that he was on a emergency mission to put out a fire, but he also enjoyed wearing his jacket and boots inside while he and his sister would play dress up. As Robert has gotten older, he has found that there is more out there that interests him, like outer space. Robert is fascinated with the universe, and has decided that he might give the astronaut life a try when he grows up. Well to help feed that fascination with astronauts, the wonderful people from Kidorable sent us some products from the Space Hero line of products!

We were sent the Space Hero Ensemble to review. With this collection, Robert can wear his cool Space Hero Kids Raincoat, which is very suiting for my little space explorer, and conquer space like puddles in the rain with the out of this world, Space Hero Rain Boots! I like the hood on the jacket that not only helps to keep the head dry in the rain, but also looks like a neat spaceman head cover. Then to help set his space adventures into motion, Robert can open his Space Hero Kids Umbrella, which reminds me of those fun pop up tents. In all, Robert can have lots of fun going on his own adventures with the out of this world gear from the Kidorable line of Space Hero products! Well, to get your own little ones geared up for an adventure of their own on a rainy day, the wonderful people from Kidorable would like to give one of my amazing readers their own Kidorable Umbrella!

Storage Solutions for the Toddler Room with Delta Children Furniture

Product Received
It seems like it was just yesterday that I was talking about bringing my little Wyatt home from the hospital. It is hard to believe that it has been 18 months since then, and in those 18 months we have had the chance to watch our amazing little guy grow and become a little person. Aside from all of the growing he has done, in the past 18 months, Wyatt has accumulated quite a collection of items, from furniture and clothing, to all of his favorite toys and books, and in that time I have also found that the storage space that I had originally set up for him, has become overtaken by his things. I go through his closet every couple of months and get rid of the items that no longer fit him, just as I do with his older siblings, but the place where I find there is just not enough storage is the boys room. Robert has his shelves and toy boxes filled with his toys, and Wyatt has his area, but as Wyatt gets older, I find that he is running out of places to put his toys. Recently I was sent a great solution to Wyatt's toy storage dilemma, when I was sent a Mickey Mouse 6 Bin Muli-Bin Organizer from Delta Children to review.

Right away I knew this great organizer would be a hit with my Wyatt, due to the fact that he adores Mickey Mouse and all of the friends from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! I found this organizer to be very easy to put together and that the bins and the large toy box on the bottom are all made of canvas, which makes them safe for my little toddler to take in and out, and play with. I also really like the bright colors, which are playful and great for putting in the boys room! Another great plus about this toy organizer set is that, once Wyatt is ready for the big boy bed, I can complete his half of the boys room in an all Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme, that coordinates and also brings more of Wyatt's big boy style to the room!

So if you are needing to find storage solutions for your toddlers room, check out the great selection of character organizers as well as coordinating furniture over at Delta Children!

#spon All New Foods for Baby from Beech-Nut

This is a sponsored post, I was compensated for my time, all opinions are my own.

As a mother, I find myself always in search of the best for my kids. This is something that I began doing from the time I found out I was pregnant with my eldest. I sought out the healthiest foods for my pregnancies, then as I prepared for each of my babies arrivals, I chose products that I saw as being the best choice when it comes to caring for baby. When I was pregnant with my kids, I had decided from day one that I would breastfeed them, knowing that it was the best choice for them. So when it was time for my babies to start eating real foods, it was a given that I would find the healthiest choices for them. I always check to see what is in the jars of baby food, to ensure that they are getting only the foods I am feeding them, and nothing else. Recently I was sent some jars of Beech-Nut baby foods to let Wyatt try out.

With the new Beech-Nut baby foods, you get exactly what you want for baby and nothing more. The foods have a homemade flavor to them, using fresh whole ingredients like fruits, grains and vegetables. With the baby foods I feed my babies, I have always tasted them before feeding them to my babies so a I can know what baby will be eating, and when I tasted the Just Carrots, that is exactly what I got, just carrots in the puree! I can really appreciate that the ingredients are all natural, and contain no artificial preservatives or additives, giving baby food that is healthy and pure! I like knowing that when the baby food from Beech-Nut is being prepared, they use a gentle cooking method, which ensures freshness, without adding water! So if you are looking for a baby food that offers the freshest ingredients without any added preservatives or extra water, then head out today and try any of the 40 new flavors of Beech-Nut!!

#Giveaway Cookie Decorating fun for the Kids with Cheryl's Easter Cutout Cookie Decorating Kit

Product Received

Easter is just around the corner, and aside from decorating the house and the Easter Eggs, I like to find other fun projects to share with the kids. Recently I was sent a great box with some items that my kids and I found to be a lot of fun to work on. We were sent the Cheryl's Easter Cutout Cookie Decorating Kit to review.

The kit came with 24 unfrosted cut out cookies, 2 tubs of buttercream, and a container of colored sprinkles. We had flower and egg shaped cookies in our kit, with a white buttercream and a orange buttercream to work with, making this the perfect kit for Easter cookie decorating! Each of my kids found that they could have fun decorating their own cookies, including my baby Wyatt! With the older kids, they found that they enjoyed putting on their own frosting and adding the colored sprinkles to their liking. Wyatt had fun exploring the frosting I had put on his cookies, and he also had fun adding and playing with the sprinkles that I put on his cookies.

With the end result, well I think the pics I took can speak for themselves. The kids not only enjoyed decorating their own cookies, but being able to eat them once we were done, was a great way to end our little cookie decorating party! So this year, as you are getting ready for Easter or any Spring time festivities in your home, get a Cheryl's Easter Cutout Cookie Decorating Kit, and have your own little cookie decorating party. Well to help with those fun Springtime and Easter festivities in your home, the wonderful people from Cheryl's would like to give one of my amazing readers their own Cheryl's Easter Cutout Cookie Decorating Kit!

Frozen on Blu-Ray

Product Received

Finding some great movies to share with the family on family movie night is something I aim for. We enjoy finding those new movies that will make it to our family favorites list, and not only watch them on a family movie night, but watch them whenever we are wanting to see a good movie. Recently we were sent such movie when we were sent Frozen on Blu-Ray to review.
Download Frozen Friendship Fun

Since getting this movie, we found that the kids, and myself for that matter, can not seem to get enough! In Disney's Frozen, you get the story of not one, but two Princess's, who are sisters, but who seem to be complete opposites. This was not always the case, but due to a very unfortunate accident, the once close sisters, grow apart, to find that true love does not just lie in a romance, but that true love can be found right at home. We loved seeing the movie in the theater, but being able to have it at home, and watch it anytime we want, brings the experience to a whole new level. The kids and I love the music, and hearing my youngest, Wyatt, click, click, click, during his favorite song, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman", is very adorable! I also love hearing my two older kids, both Estrella and Robert, sing, "Let it Go", which has made Frozen, a instant classic and family favorite in my house! You can find the magic of Frozen and share it with your family too by heading out and bringing home your copy today!

#spon #HBturns50 Cooking with Gallo Family Vineyards: Grandma's Beef Burgandy

This post is sponsored by Gallo Family Vineyards: Hearty Burgundy and Mom It Forward Blogger Network. I was compensated for my time. All opinions are my own.

I am one who enjoys a good bottle of wine. Whether it is with my husband, friends and family, or if it is used to cook with. I find that adding wine to a meal can make all the difference, from pairing with the right foods, to adding it to the recipe to give it that taste the dish is needing. In fact, adding wines to dishes is something I grew up with. I can remember some of my favorite dishes having wine added to the recipe, and those recipes are something I still enjoy cooking and serving to my own family. Recently I was sent a bottle of the Gallo Family Vineyards Hearty Burgundy to review. When I first got the bottle, and I tasted the burgundy, one particular recipe came to mind.

The recipe is one that my grandma used to make quite often, and since her passing years ago, my mom took on the role of preparing the same recipe, just as my grandmother made it. It was not until a few years ago, that I had decided that I would give the recipe a shot and try making it for my own family. The recipe is what we call, "Grandma's Beef Burgundy". This is a recipe that takes a lot of preparation, time and most of all, love! With that being said, the end result is amazing, it is one that has its own unique taste and quality to, and I found that adding the Gallo Family Vineyards Hearty Burgundy to the recipe, gave it that robust flavor that I can remember from when my own grandma made it.

To get started on preparing my Grandma's Beef Burgundy, you are going to want to make sure you start early in the day due to the fact that it does take about 10 hours from start to finish, so by the time dinner rolls around, it will be fresh and ready to serve.

Grandma’s Beef Burgundy Recipe
Crisp 6 strips of bacon in skillet
Remove bacon and brown 2lbs. chuck in the bacon grease (cut-up stew meat)
Put beef in crock pot
Brown 1 large carrot peeled and sliced and 1 large yellow onion in bacon grease
Add 1 teaspoon each of salt and pepper
Add 3 tablespoons of flour
Add 10 oz can beef broth
Mix and dump all in pot over beef and add crumbled bacon
Add 1 1/2 cups burgundy,
1 tablespoon tomato paste,
2 cloves minced garlic
1 whole bay leaf
½ teaspoon thyme
Quarter ½ lb (2 small or 1 large) white onions
Cook on low for 8-10 hours
1 hour before serving sauté and add1 lb sliced mushrooms
Thicken if necessary

Serve over large egg noodles

In the past, we have used different burgundies for this recipe, but it was not until I had used the Hearty Burgundy from the Gallo Family Vineyards, that I got that authentic taste that I can remember from the days when my grandma used to make this dish. We found that the burgundy can make all the difference. I also found, that serving a glass of the Gallo Family Vineyards Hearty Burgundy right before serving the food, made the whole experience of the dish really amazing! So if you are wanting to create a dish for your next dinner party, or even for a night in for your family, that will really make a great impression, then make Grandma's Beef Burgundy and be sure to use the Gallo Family Vineyards Hearty Burgundy to ensure you get the full flavor that the recipe was intended for!

#ad Teaching Important Lessons During the Month of Financial Literacy

This is a sponsored post, all opinions are my own.

April is Financial Literacy Month; however the important lessons of personal finance are relevant year-round to families and children. Like many out there, my husband and I find spring to be the time of the year when we can really take a look at our finances. It is the time of year when taxes are complete, and when some of the purchases we made over the holidays are being paid off, or will be paid off in the near future.

Though the household finances are for my husband and I to handle, we are taking advantage of Financial Literacy Month and teaching our kids about something we take seriously. By taking time to teach our kids about finances and budgets, we can teach them about being responsible with their own money at a young age, hopefully in a way that will follow them into adulthood.

One way that my husband and I teach our kids about finances and budgets is by having the kids get involved in the household budget. By showing them what is spent on the household bills and food each month, they can see what’s leftover and how our money was used. For example, if we want to plan a summer vacation, we can all be involved in knowing how much the vacation will cost and what is needed to achieve the financial goal. We can do this by using computer software such as EXCEL, or by keeping a household ledger with all of the finances itemized.

Another way my husband and I show our kids how to be financially literate is by allowing them to have their own savings accounts. This is something that is not only taught at home but in their elementary school as well. The kids are given information on how to manage a savings account from some of the local banks, who also offer savings accounts for kids.

Another thing I can appreciate when it comes to financial literacy are websites that promote additional education for kids. Discover is participating in the effort to bring financial literacy to high school classrooms nationwide through Pathway to Financial Success. The goal is simple: Arm parents and children with the skills they need to succeed, preparing them for a brighter, more responsible financial future. With this website, my kids and I can go on and get the tools my husband and I need to educate our kids about being more responsible and aware of finances. I also like that Pathway to Financial Success is not only there to help parents at home in educating their kids on strong financial futures, but they also provide grants to schools that are implementing or enhancing a financial literacy curriculum.

Aside from the basic household bills and essentials and saving for the future, I think that teaching kids about credit cards and how to use them correctly is crucial. I like that Discover cardmembers can sign up for the online Account Center to view transactions, their accumulated Cashback Bonus, along with the Spend Analyzer, which shows spending in various categories. I have found that with the knowledge and tools that parents can teach at home, along with the education on finances that kids can learn from their schools, we can provide our kids the knowledge they need for better futures.

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own. This post is sponsored by Discover since I am a member of the Discover Preferred Blogger Program. Thank you to Discover for sponsoring this post!

From Parents to Pooches: Onesies for all the Family (Guest Post)

The popularity of the onesie has really taken off in recent years, and it is not uncommon to see an entire household wearing them, including our four-legged friends. Described by the Daily Mail as an “all-in-one fashion phenomenon,” no longer are these outfits just for snuggling up in while watching the telly. Weddings, funerals and other equally serious events have all been attended by people wearing onesies.

Even family pets have been seen rocking this huge fashion trend. So where can you find a good range of onesies? A huge selection is available at, with designs and sizes to suit all the family. Whether you want to match your pet’s onesie, prefer something a little wilder like a lion or tiger design, or are drawn to simple patterns in warm, cosy materials, all needs can be catered for.

National Dress Up Your Pet Day
So many dog and cat owners love to dress up their pets these days, that there is even a National Dress Up Your Pet Day. Originally introduced in 2009 by animal behaviourist, Colleen Paige, the day is a celebration of our love for pets, and sparks national interest not only here and in America, but globally.

Embraced by pet lovers around the world, this year’s special day was 14th January, and resulted in a huge number of photos on the internet showing pets wearing onesies. Some were functional, others were cute, but most were very funny and the pets’ expressions said it all!

Even hamsters had their own little costumes, but what of the humans? Did they also sport this new fashion item on the big day? The answer in many cases was a firm, “Yes.” They say that owners eventually look like their pets, but on National Dress Up Your Pet Day, the likeness was uncanny.

Do you love them or hate them?
Often seen as a follow-on from the ‘Slanket’ – basically a blanket with sleeves – the onesie seems to be something that people either love or hate. The Telegraph reported that a Norwegian company called ‘OnePiece’ have been credited with making the onesie into a fashion statement, and it has certainly taken off across Europe.

As with other fashion trends, celebrity endorsements by the likes of Brad Pitt, Rihanna and Justin Bieber have elevated onesie-wearing to new heights. It does not take long for high street and online shops to offer new trends once they are seen on an A-list celebrity, but the unusual aspect of this particular trend is its added association with pets.

Pet onesies not only ensure they stand out from the crowd, they also make it easier to keep your furry friends warm and dry. They can be cute, macho or just plain practical, with waterproof and windproof designs that are great for long-haired pets.

So where do you stand on the great onesie fashion debate? More importantly, would you buy one for your pet? As far as pets are concerned, they do provide a level of warmth and comfort particularly for smooth-haired animals, and this might just describe why they are so popular with humans too.

#Giveaway Rainy Day Fun with Fort Magic

Product Received

Spring is here, and with the spring weather comes the springtime rains. My kids and I enjoy spending time outdoors, but on those rainy days when the weather is not so permitting, we like to find things to do to keep busy while we are indoors. I can remember when I was a little girl, when we had days of indoor play, my dad would get out sheets and help my sister and I build indoor play forts. We had so much fun with both of my parents, creating a indoor camp out, even if the weather outside was bad. We could spend entire days perfecting our indoor forts, playing in them, then telling stories and watching movies from our fort and even camping in the forts for the night. Well, as a parent myself, I have tried to recreate those fun memories with my own kids, but as it was when I was a kid, the forts have been pretty basic. It was not until recently, when we were sent a Fort Magic set, that we found new ways of creating and building those fun forts!

With the Fort Magic kit that we were sent, my kids and I can take the indoor fort building experience to a whole new level. There are 382 pieces in the box, which includes straight and curves pieces in different sizes as well as different sized connectors. With the different sized pieces and connectors, we found that there are so many possibilities on what we can build, from a soaring rocket ship to a pirate ship taking on the deep blue seas. We enjoyed the different blue prints that came with our Fort Magic kit, which gave us so many ideas, and also gave us ideas on our own designs and fort creations! Both my kids and I found the Fort Magic Kit to be perfect for keeping us busy and creating on days when the weather is not so fairing! So if you want to find something that might not only bring back some of that rainy day fun nostalgia to your home, but that offers so much more than that for you and your kids to play with and enjoy, then get your Fort Magic kit today, and say goodbye to a once boring rainy day! Well to help combat those rainy day blues, the wonderful people from Fort Magic would like to give one of my amazing readers their own Fort Magic Kit!!!

Springtime Trends from Sole Provisions

Product Received

Spring is upon us and here in Texas, I am sure enjoying the Springtime weather that we have been having. I enjoy being able to go outdoors, whether it is a stroll at the park with the kids or out shopping with my friends. With that, I take full advantage of the Spring fashions. Recently I was sent a pair of shoes to review from Sole Provisions. I went with the very adorable Taos Tango shoes in Bone. I found these shoes to be a great fit for the Spring ensembles, from the adorable spring dresses to the skirts.

I really liked the ankle strap and the laser cut out design on the shoes. I also found that these shoes provide a lot of comfort, which is a huge plus for the mom on the go who is constantly running around on her feet. The upper linings provide a soft support, and the curves and such that are inside, help support the contours of the feet and they really do provide a great shock absorption when walking. Another plus is the rubber outer sole, which makes the shoes flexible when you walk. In all, I found the Taos Tango in Bone shoes from Sole Provisions to be both very fashionable and comfortable. So if you are looking for some great shoes that not only give you the comfort you look for in shoes but that are also fashionable, head on over to Sole Provisions and check out their amazing selection of shoes!
