Baby Basics: Gifts To Get New Parents

If you have friends who are transitioning into the world of parenthood, you can show your care just by giving them some basic things that can help them raise their baby in a loving and comfortable environment. Even though you might be tempted to find the best strollers and baby carriages out there, it’s best to leave the big baby needs to the parents and just focus on giving items that can help them ease into parenthood. Here are some of the most basic baby gifts that you can give to new parents.

Blankets, lots of it

Babies need blankets, and they need a lot of it. Babies love it when they stay warm, so giving them comfortable and breathable blankets can definitely cause relief to new parents. Blankets need to be always in pristine condition to avoid getting the baby sick. You should find a swaddle blanket that’s made from the best materials. Even though comfy blankets can be expensive, choosing a better brand of blankets will ensure that your gift will be used for a long time.

Organic bath and body care

Babies need to take a bath as well! It’s best to use only organic products made from the best ingredients out there. Try and look for hypoallergenic and skin-friendly products that wouldn’t harm the delicate nature of the baby’s skin. There are organic salves, bath soaps, and other chemical-free goods that is not only friendly to the baby’s skin, but is also friendly to the environment.

Mommy and daddy spa kit

Who says that you have to give the baby a gift? New parents would love it if you shower them with gifts also. Having a new baby in their lives can cause a lot of stress to new parents, leaving them always tired and sleepless. Give your friends a mommy and daddy spa kit that can give them the complete spa experience without leaving the comforts of their home. Pack the spa kit with bath salts, scented candles, body butter, and other spa products that can make them feel refreshed and energized even though they’re dealing with a baby for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Stability ball

New parents would also need a lot of exercise, especially moms who are trying to lose the excess weight caused by the recent pregnancy. New moms suggest getting a stability ball that can be used to tone and sculpt the body. Nothing spells relaxation quite like bouncing off a huge ball. Did we mention that you can also use the stability ball to rock the babies to sleep? Not only is it for exercise, it’s also a healthy way to keep your kids dozing off in no time.

DIY baby care package

If you couldn’t find the perfect gift to give to new parents, we recommend creating a baby care package from scratch! Try and think of items that new parents would need like baby diapers, baby clothes, and other helpful accessories that can definitely make parenthood easier. You can also customize the baby care package according to the tastes and needs of the parents, so make sure to keep a dash of creativity when you’re coming up with the perfect package!

I love this list of items to give, especially getting something for the new parents as well, even a spa certificate or offering to watch the baby for them so they can have a day to relax is a nice gift, great idea to include them as well, i always give lots of diapers, wipes, and lotions/diaper rash cream.
