#Giveaway Surviving Daylight Savings Time with Pampers and The Sleep Lady

When it comes to bedtime in my house, we have a routine, one that if we do not stick to it, can make things pretty chaotic. This routine is not too detailed, but with it we have our time for brushing teeth, going to the restroom, getting our bed clothes on, and our story time before lights out. I learned long ago, when my eldest was a baby, that having these routines in place, not only helps to get little ones to get a good nights sleep, but it also helps us as parents as well, get that good nights sleep.

When Daylight Savings Time (March 8th) comes along, I like many other parents, find it to be a transition that may seem simple enough by adjusting times for myself, but not so easy when it comes to baby. So when I was sent a copy of The Sleep Lady's Good Night Sleep Tight book, along with a Twilight Turtle and a months supply of Pampers diapers and wipes, from the wonderful people at Pampers, I was excited to check out the book, and get those tips, that can really come in handy when it comes to getting little ones to sleep and surviving the time changes!
One of the biggest issues I have had in the past when it comes to ensuring that baby gets a good nights sleep is making sure they have a diaper that does not leak. And that is why we like having the diapers and wipes from Pampers on hand, since they help to give those little bottoms up to 12 hours of protection from leaks. I also know that having products like the Twilight Turtle, which help soothe with gentle vibrations, lights and sounds, can help with getting little ones to sleep.

I learned that when it comes to adjusting little ones to the time change, it helps to change the times of the bedtime routines gradually, just a few days before, so when the time change hits, it will not cause issues with sleeping times. In fact, I found so many great tips and tricks in the book I was sent, that I can find those tips I need for sleeping that will not only come in handy for Daylight Savings Time, but also for other times when sleep can be a issue.

We like to change our schedule a few minutes a day starting a week before the time changes.

We had trouble getting our daughter to sleep until we came up with a regular routine before bed. Now she enjoys the structure and she doesn't fuss when it's time to go to bed.

It takes my granddaughter awhile of just laying quietly in her bed before she goes to sleep, and if she doesn't go to sleep at least she has rested.

I always put my babies to sleep awake and had them fall asleep in their crib; all of my kids were good sleepers and didn't have issues falling asleep on their own.

A bedtime routine has always helped us. We have a routine we always follow and we try to stick to it everyday. All our kids do really well with that.

Things are better now but the issues we used to have is he used to want to play and play and do everything, you could tell he was so tired but insisted wasn't and wouldn't be put down.

I always had a hard time sleeping when the baby slept, I wanted to do all my errands and stuff at that point, I learned to take naps though :)

I have more issues with my teens or myself then with the little ones. I just try to keep the schedule going and slowly adjust it.

My tip is to give them a warm bath and make sure the room is quiet so that baby has no trouble going to sleep.

Hardest thing I have come across is getting the baby calm with the older ones running around acting crazy. For me it was time to put a movie in for the older and go off to a darker room with the baby.

I think it is hard getting my little one to sleep because her daddy works odd hours so sometimes when he comes in if she isn't fully asleep she will wake up!

My daughter is currently having trouble getting her 2 1/2 year old to go to bed and stay in bed. She even gets up in the middle of the night and does things like get eggs out of the refrigerator. Help!!

Right now my son is currently waking up every morning around 4:30 and doesn't go back to sleep until about 5 :(

The thing that has worked for us is to give a bath about 30 min before bed. Then we always read one story together and I turn on his sound machine when I put him down. Consistency works for us!

Giving the baby or child a nice bath before bedtime, helps them to sleep better. Paula Caudill

Lavender baby bath worked with my son with he was a baby. Calmed him down almost every time.

My son (and now daughter) needed to be held to go to sleep. Every time we tired to put him down, he would start crying. We swore we would be smarter about it if/when we had a second baby. Well...we have a second baby and it is going exactly the same as it did when we had our first. :| Good news is, I know for a fact it won't last forever. My son is 5 and is sleeping through the night...my daughter is almost a year....I think we need to figure something out to help her learn to get herself back to sleep. I just hate hearing her cry. I'm pregnant with my first baby and due this summer, so as of right now I don't have any tips but I'm sure I will once the baby gets here. I do know that I want to keep the baby on a schedule when it get here!

my little wanted to breastfeed all through the night even though he was old enough to sleep through the night. Fortunately a sudden change of environment helped him to self wean for night time feedings. We visited my mother in AL and he never wanted to nurse at night again.

When my children were babies, I used to wear them with the Pampers product before night sleep. I think it is a good product that new parents can rely on.
