It may seem like there is time before summer hits, but the reality of things is, summer break for the kids is not far off. As a parent I know that those summer camps are starting to fill up, and the time to start planning those summer vacations is now. I also know that when it comes to the summer, trying to fill in all of the time with activities and adventures for the kids can be a lot easier said than done. So as a parent, I try to seek out and find things, from the books, local activities and anything else I can come across so I can try to combat that dreaded summer brain drain for my kids.
It is a fact, that when the summer is over and the kids return to the new school year, many kids can loose anywhere from 1-3 months worth of learning. Making it so teachers are spending those first couple of months, reviewing what they have lost over the summer break. So for me, I see it as a crucial time to ensure my kids do not loose everything they have learned from school by keeping those precious minds active and continuously learning, while still letting them have fun over their summer break.
Recently, I was introduced to a online game, one that is unlike any out there, and that is designed for kids ages 7-14. This game is called Brain Chase, and it takes kids on a treasure hunt, one that is a very real hunt, one that in order to find the next clue the kids have to complete activities. The activities are made to challenge kids, and are activities that are created with their appropriate age and skill levels in mind.
Brain Chase is a fun game, that helps to get all of the kids involved as well as the parents, making it a fun, online game for the entire family, that is a treasure hunt, that in the end, will get one lucky player a $10,000 scholarship, which is hidden somewhere on the Earth.
Brain Chase offers 5 weeks of fun, where for one hour each day, your kids log in and participate by watching the videos, and doing the activities so they can go to the next clue! And after hearing about last years adventures and seeing the gifts that were sent to the kids who participated, makes me excited to take on the adventures with my kids! With the program from last year, the kids were sent awesome decoder rings, a compass, along with seeds, that once planted, had clues on the leaves! Keeping them engaged and excited for the adventure ahead.
So this year, help your kids stay busy, in a fun way, and help beat that summer brain drain by signing your kids up for Brain Chase, and let the adventures begin!!!
