Whether you are preparing for the new school year or for those end of the summer vacations, we need to make sure that when in the car with our kids, everyone is safely restrained in their seats. I know that when my daughter was getting ready for Pre-K, she was concerned with the fact that she was still having to use a car seat. She wanted to be a big girl and be seen riding to school as a big girl. I understood this concern and we decided that when we were doing our back to school shopping that year that we would upgrade her car seat to a booster seat. This upgrade was huge for her, she recognized the transition as being a much needed one and one that happens to big kids. In all we were both satisfied. She was happy that her seat was for big kids and I was happy that she had a booster seat that was made for her size. She continued to use a booster seat up until the middle of the first grade, this is when she was finally tall enough and weighed enough to legally sit in a regular seat belt. When you have kids, the transition from a car seat to a booster seat can be like a right of passage for a kid. They feel big, knowing that they are becoming a big kid. The age for this transition can differ from child to child. Some may have to wait until they are Kindergarten age before they are big enough, then some may be able to make the transition before school age. Even though our kids are headed to school, that does not mean that they are big enough to be done with safety seats. Most states have laws in place, where there is a height and or weight limit on a child. The child’s age does not matter. But even a really tall 4 year old still needs to be restrained properly. My son is three. He is a big three year old. He had got to the point this Summer, where the car seat we had was too small for him. Because of this fact, we decided to start looking for a booster seat. We needed one with a high back, but one that we could buckle him up in, that was not too tight or too small for him. Our search was over when I was offered the Safety 1st Rumi to review. This booster is perfect. It has the big kid design and construction, with our kids safety kept in mind. The harness is designed to keep your child safely in from 22-65 lbs. Then the belt positioning booster is made for kids 40-100 lbs and up to 57 inches tall. The headrest has 12 positions that can be adjusted as needed, and as your child grows. Unique FlexTech design provides added strength to protect your child, and also allows for a smooth surface that helps vehicle interiors. The Air Protect Revolutionary Side Impact Technology:
Breakthrough system shields the head and immediately reduces side impact forces through the precise release of air. The quick fit harness means that there is no need to re-thread the harness! It has color coded belt paths for easy installation and a one click latch installation system. In all this booster has everything we could ever want in a booster, it even has a cup holder for Robert’s sippy cup! This year Robert will be heading to pre-school and he is very excited about this. So part of our back to school shopping for him included a booster seat. This year when you are either back to school shopping or even prepping for that end of summer vacation, keep your kids safety in mind. Even if you have a booster already, is the booster you have as safe as you need it to be? If it does not or if you are in the market for a new booster, check out the Rumi by Safety 1st, you are sure to be pleased and your big kid will be as well!! The wonderful people from Safety 1st know that with back to school shopping, looking for that perfect booster seat for the big kid in your life can be tough, so they would like to give one of my amazing readers a Rumi Booster Seat by Safety 1st!
