As a parent, I find it to be quite amazing to see when my 2 year old can get on my smart phone or tablet, turn it on, swipe, play games and navigate it. This is true not only with my toddler, but with my older children as well, who have their own tablets and smartphones which they use on a daily basis. I find it amazing because I know that when I was their age, much less 2 for that matter, I did not have access to the technology they have, and when I got my first smartphone and tablet, I had to read the manual, the guides, and learn how to use the devices.
Now as much as I can appreciate the technology we have, and the fact that my kids can easily navigate and utilize their devices, I also find that the time spent on their devices and some of the sites they use, is something we do not always see eye to eye on. So when I was introduced to the OurPact App, and given the chance to review it, I was pleased to see the idea behind the app and the ease of use as well.
The OurPact App is a app that is made to help parents guide our children when it comes to their mobile habits, and teach them how to be responsible using technology. With the OurPact App, I like that they keep families in mind, and allow parents to use it not just as a parental control tool but as a family guidance tool. Allowing families to put schedules in place when it comes to internet and app uses, that are based around daily schedules, weekday and weekend uses.
OurPact also has a way to set the number of hours our children use on the internet and on apps, and gives parents the control to block the use of the internet and even apps, with the at-a-touch. As a parent we can also give our kids more time on websites and apps if we choose, and even block apps like Facebook, Snapchat and more, so we as parents can take control of what our children are exposed to, and also teach them how to use the internet and apps responsibly!
Making the OurPact App, a must have, go to app for any family with children, so we can not only set times and schedules when it comes to the use of various apps and internet use, but so we can also teach our children how to be responsible when it comes to their time and schedules using technology.
