When it comes to finding new shows and movies to watch and share with my husband, we do find that we enjoy finding ones that are based on novels that are written by authors we like. Recently we were introduced to such, with a 3 part mini series that is based on the novel by J.K. Rowling called, The Casual Vacancy.
This mini series is a great one to watch on a date night in, after the kids go to bed. In this series, you find the lives of various people and families in a small town, intertwine with one another. You find that even though they all live separate lives and even on different sides of the town, in one way or another, they all find that they play a part in one anothers lives in someway, you also find that they are at odds with each other. You have one side who wants to keep things going as they are and continue with the work of a dear friend was in charge of. Then you have another side, who wants to change everything and the way things are run, they do not see the importance of having certain facilities available, and how one choice can cause a horrible ripple effect. And how “casual vacancy” can have many meanings, but in the end, mean one thing.
We found this mini series to be one to add to the list of our favorites, but not one I would suggest kids watch due to some of the adult situations. Making the mini series, The Casual Vacancy, a great selection to get for your next movie night in!
Product received, thank you to Warner Bros Entertainment as well as the PR for supplying me with a product for this review, all opinions are my own.
