Sharing the Wholesome Products from Honey Maid with Family

When it comes to family, we find that when we look around, we are all different, and in America you find that the American family has changed. I mean, in my family alone, we have interracial families which includes my daughter who is half Hispanic and my sister who’s husband is from Barbados. We also have the mixed family put in there, where we have my daughter who lives with myself and my husband who is her step dad. And when it comes to my husband, he is one of 6 in his family who were adopted. So when were asked to create a post about American families and how the Honey Maid products bring families together, we were very excited to share a little about our family along with a family favorite recipe of ours!

With my husband, he was a child, who at the age of 8 was given a family of his own when he was adopted into a family of 5. After they adopted my husband, his parents went on to adopt a pair of brothers bringing their family of 6 to 8. Most would think that 8 is a full house, but when it came to my in laws, they always seemed to find room for anyone and everyone they could. They proved this over and over again, and went on and adopted 3 more of my husbands biological siblings, bringing their large family of 8 to a house filled with love in their family of 11.

This show of heart not only gave my husband that family that so many kids in foster care dream of and yearn for, but it also taught him that when it comes to love, there is always room for more! Which with the love and support he was given, turned him into the amazing husband, dad, and man he is today. And also of which puts our family, in many of the American family categories when you look at the facts that 1 in 12 families are interracial, that 40% of children don’t live with both biological parents, and that we are one of the 1.5 million American families who have been affected by adoption. Making our family, the one for us and what makes our family special and unique!

Well when it comes to family and sharing what is wholesome and comforting to us, we enjoy adding the Honey Maid products, who just like the American family, have evolved over the past 90 years, by sharing a piece of Honey Maid Crusted Peach Pie! We found that this pie was not only perfect for sharing with those we love, but also a great pie to eat while watching this great Honey Maid video that you can watch when you go here:

When we share our Honey Maid Crusted Peach Pie, we enjoy the Honey Maid crackers as a main ingredient that are made from wholesome whole grains and honey and are made without high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors. Making Honey Maid a product that not only tastes great but a product that can bring families from all walks of life together!

Recipe for Honey Maid Crusted Peach Pie:

2 packs of Honey Maid Graham Crackers
1 stick of butter (melted)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg

3 cups sliced pitted peaches
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp lemon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 cup granola (for topping)

Preheat oven 425. Then crush graham crackers, add melted butter and other crust ingredients then mix well. Grease a pie dish, then press the crust along the edges of the pie dish on the bottom. Leave about 1/2 cup of the crust mix and put to side for topping. Place in oven for 12 minutes. While crust is baking, mix filling ingredients. Add the granola to the left over crust for topping and mix well. After crust is done, remove from oven and add filling, bake for another 40 minute, wrap edge with tin foil to keep from burning. 15 minutes before it is done baking, pull out the pie and sprinkle topping evenly on the pie then place back in the oven for the last 15 minutes.

So as we approach the holiday season, be sure to share a piece of the Honey Maid Crusted Peach Pie with your family!

We love graham crackers & always buy Honey Maid. The recipe for the peach dessert looks pretty tasty, too.
