When it comes to the summer and sharing the time with friends and family, I like to find ways to make the time a bit more fun. Like on the evenings when we have a few friends over for a cookout and drinks. So when I found out that July 12th is National Michelada Day, I was excited to not only make a date of it with friends, but also share a fun Michelada recipe with my readers.
See when you celebrate National Michelada Day with Clamato®, you are celebrating a drink tradition of experimenting with different drink mixes that was something that a bar in Mexicali called Bar los V-tarros was known for. The tradition of experimenting with drinks at the bar was one that the bar owner and his friend enjoyed doing, and one of the drinks that the bar owner created was the now famous Michelada. This drink mix was created with Clamato®, beer, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, lime, and pepper. The recipe became very popular very quickly around the world and is now celebrated here in the US on National Michelada Day every July 12th!
Well like many, I not only enjoy a Michelada but I also like knowing the history behind the drink, which helps to make the celebration of National Michelada Day, even more special! So like many, I will be stocking up on some Clamato® along with the rest of the ingredients for the recipe that was shared with me and I am now sharing with my readers in the recipe above and the steps to making a Michelada in the photo below, which makes enough for 8 glasses.
Making July 12th, a day to mark on the calendar and a great excuse to celebrate the day with friends! So as you prepare for National Michelada Day or for any day where a Michelada is on the menu, be sure to pick up some Clamato®!

I've not heard of this before, and it sounds interesting. I'm wondering if it could be used for a seafood soup!
