As parents, we find that there are many concerns we have when it comes to the various stages of our children as they grow. And as they grow, we encourage the independence they want, little by little so that we can prepare them for the future. Like many, aside from having a baby monitor in the nursery to monitor sleeping babies, I also like to have monitors in other parts of the home as well, so as little ones and even bigger kids explore and test that independence, we can continue to keep an eye on them for their safety. See, I find that as the kids grow, they want more and more of that independence, and as they grow into preteens and teens we find that they not only want that trust that comes with independence but they also want to test other waters such as taking on more responsibilities where they can earn money. So when we were introduced to the VTech Safe&Sound® DM271-110 DECT 6.0 Digital Audio Baby Monitor with Open/Closed & Motion Sensors, I was not only curious to check it out but also use it in our home to monitor my preteen when she takes on those babysitting jobs at our house.
With the VTech Digital Audio Monitor you get a monitor that is from the VTech line up which offers the monitors that fit your different needs by understanding that parents see that selecting the right monitor is an important decision. And with the VTech’s Safe&Sound audio monitors, you get a line of monitors that come equipped with features that give parents the peace of mind they deserve anytime, anywhere. For me and many others, I can appreciate that VTech has what families need to stay connected whether they are new or growing families. Families can utilize the new ways to stay connected with products like the Safe&Sound® baby monitors. These monitors range from compact audio monitors to award-winning high-tech video monitors, and all of VTech’s monitors have one common view in common, an emphasis on safety and security for parents and their children.
With this smart home monitor set up, you find that everything you need to get started and begin using this monitor is in the box! I also like that aside from the monitor, you get the parent unit that has a belt clip on it for easy portability, a open closed sensor that is simple to attach to doors with the included hardware, and a motion sensor! I found the set up to be very simple and as I set everything up in my daughters room or as she calls it when she is working, “Babysitting Headquarters”, I was able to show my daughter how everything works and also how I will be just a monitor away to keep an eye on things and also help her if ever needed. We can talk to one another through the monitor, adjust the volume when we put it to the sleep mode to help get little ones to sleep, and when needed, my daughter can page me to get my attention if she needs me.
Then aside from the ease of use, the extra safety features and equipment that is included with the DM271-110, I like that the monitor comes with Ultra Low Energy Smart Sensors or ULE. I also like that when my daughter is babysitting and we are watching after her other siblings in the home, I can continue to keep a close eye on things even when I am on the other side of the house since this monitor offers up to 1,000 feet of range. In fact when it comes to all of the features there are so many that make this monitor the one for us. I also like that we can use the glow-on-ceiling night light that projects the moon and stars onto the ceiling, and that it is easy to adjust. Along with the night light there is also the gentle lullaby that we can utilize when needed. Which in all not only makes the VTech Digital Audio Monitor a great monitor to have in the home for new and growing families, but also a great monitor to get when you have a preteen or teen who is ready to begin their own adventures in babysitting!
